Merry Christmas Gathering Church, We have waited together during this Advent season. We have heard again the story of Emmanuel, of Light breaking through the darkness. We have celebrated in song. In prayers. In stories of Emmanuel. And now, Christmas has come again. A familiar story made new as we invite Emmanuel into our lives—into our relationships, work, losses, disappointments, barren places, full places, joys, celebrations and hopes. It is a tremendous gift for me to journey the life of faith with you. Thank you for entrusting me with your stories. Thank you for sharing the gifts of tears and of laughter. Thank you for the many ways you support the life and mission of The Gathering Church. Children and youth, what a joy you are! I love to hear of your activities, creations in Kids’ Zone, fun and learnings at Youth Group and the many ways you are growing. I invite you to read this blessing aloud, receiving the many promises of Emmanuel. God says, “Do not be afraid.” God says, “I have called you by name.” God says, “I will be with you.” God says, “You are precious and honored in my sight.” On this Christmas morning, may we wrap ourselves in these words. With love and great thanksgiving, Catherine
