Paul understood forgiveness; he had experienced forgiveness to salvation on a deeply personal level. However, Paul faced the same challenges regarding forgiveness that you and I do. The challenge to walk fully in the freedom of forgiveness. The challenge of temptation and the fact that Jesus called us to forgive others, just as God has forgiven us. Forgiveness is not easy; however, it is a vital component of God's call on our lives.
"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." Ephesians 4:32
