This Sunday
This Sunday we enter into what is known by followers of Christ as Holy Week. We are invited to journey reflectively with Jesus as we remember the week preceding His death and resurrection. We begin Holy Week by celebrating Palm Sunday. We will join with the crowds by raising palm branches and singing our Hosannas. We’ll reflect on what changed those Hosannas into cries of “crucify Him”. Please join us on this important Sunday before Easter. |

Good Friday, April 18th, 10:30am at CMCC
Before we reach Easter Sunday, we journey with Jesus through His betrayal, mocking, abandonment and death on the cross. At our Good Friday service, we will enter into Jesus’ last days through scripture, remembrance, song and communion. This will be a time of quiet reflection. Children will participate in a Good Friday program for the duration of the service. |

High Schoolers Only Community Supper
On Monday evening, 40 plus high school students joined in on the first ever High Schoolers Only Community Supper. The idea for this supper was generated by a grade 10 student during one of our visits at Snack Attack. He said that he and other high schoolers would enjoy a quieter time around tables with the adults from The Gathering. It was wonderful to work with the high school students to create the supper. The youth participated in preparing the meal, in setting up, serving and cleaning up. The food was delicious. There were many meaningful conversations, laughter, game playing and a sense of community amongst the youth. Four youth said, “It is so peaceful here.” As we reflect on the coming of this Holy Week and further into Jesus’ ascension, we read Jesus’ words in John 14, 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. There was much evidence of this Peace between the youth, in the conversations and within the physical space of what the gym, which we call our sanctuary.
Thank you for all who supported the supper.
