This Week and Next Week
This Sunday morning, we will join for worship at 10:30 at CMCC. We will celebrate communion together, remembering Jesus’ life and reflecting on His sacrifice. Jesus took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then He broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of Me. (Luke 22:19) Ellen looks forward to celebrating God’s love with the children. Zoiyaah looks forward to being in the nursery with our littlest ones. Next Sunday we begin a new series based on Philippians 4:8 and 9. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

November 3rd Congregational Meeting Prayer and Discernment Process
We hope that you will participate in this important meeting in the life of The Gathering Church. The Reference Team met with Marg from Credence and Co. and have planned the next step in our Prayer and Discernment process. On November 3rd we will join together for morning worship at 10:30, followed by lunch and then our Congregational Meeting. The meeting will be finished no later than 2:30. Childcare is provided for children ages 3 and up. Please RSVP to Ruth (PRESS HERE) by October 25th with numbers for attending the lunch and numbers for childcare. |
Community Supper:
We hope that you will join us on Saturday for our Community Supper. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the meal and time in community. The meal will be served from 5:00 to 6:30. We hope to see you there as we seek to be God’s light and love to one another. |

Snack Attack: Tuesdays 1:30 to 4:00 at CMCC
On Tuesday afternoon, there was lots of enthusiasm and conversation at Snack Attack. We are grateful to Herrle Farm Market who donated 250 freshly baked muffins for the children and youth of Chandler Mowat. Muffin Day is a favourite day for most. Over the past six weeks we have enjoyed getting to know the children and youth, and the adults in their lives. Being present each week allows for check-ins and encouragement. Conversations about how school is going, joining a club at school, new friendships and making good choices abound. Together we share the highlights of our week and things that are challenging us. You are invited to pray for Snack Attack. Our desire is for Snack Attack to be a place where God’s love is given and received and a community of safety and encouragement is built. What do we talk about, you might ask! This week, a grade 10 student shared that he had a math test the next day. We asked, “How are you doing in math? Will you take some time to study for the test?” The youth wasn’t sure. We talked a little about the value of studying and how even 30 minutes can be helpful. Then one of our Gathering Team asked this: “What is your goal? To get the best mark you can or just get through the test?” This question invited a pause. The youth replied, “To get the best mark I can.” The team member followed up with, “How could studying help that goal?” And on the conversation went. God invites us to encourage one another and build each other up (I Thess. 5:11). On Tuesday, we look forward to checking in on how the math test went. |
