Join us this Sunday, at 10:30 am, as we celebrate God’s faithfulness to and through The Gathering Church over the past 20 years.

Pastor Jim Loepp Thiessen, who followed God’s call to plant The Gathering, will bring a message of “Starting From Scratch” as we both remember the journey of The Gathering and anticipate participating in what God is calling us to.

We will celebrate 20 years through worship in song, scripture, stories and blessings.   We hope you will join us!

Following the worship service we will enjoy a catered lunch together.  You are welcome to bring your own dishes and cutlery.  These items will also be provided.

Next Sunday we will continue our series on “Caring for Our Souls” as we look at Soul Conversations found in Scripture and how we too can listen to our souls words to us.

No one needs to tell us that we just experienced a cold week of winter! On Tuesday at Snack Attack, we moved our serving tables into the gym as it was just too cold to be outside for the 1.5 hours. We had a big sign out front directing children, youth and families to the gym.  One team member stayed outside, welcoming everyone and encouraging them to find their way to the gym for a REALLY full snack pack.  One grade 6 student said, “I thought you would forget us on such a cold day.”  Our reply, “Oh, we could never forget you.”  This led to a warm hug and a check-in on how things are going.

At Snack Attack we seek to bring God’s love and presence to each child, youth or adult that we meet. As we expressed to this child that “they are not forgotten”, we spoke a promise of God over them, “Never will I leave you nor forsake you. I love you with an everlasting love.”  Let’s continue to pray for Snack Attack and for the children, youth and families of the Chandler Mowat Community.

And to you, you are seen and loved by God. 

We are happy to announce that Men’s Group is back. Our first meeting will be Tuesday, February 4 at The Space from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Topic TBA.

Community Suppers are a wonderful time to enjoy a delicious meal and to build up our relationships with our neighbours and one another around tables.

We hope you will join us on February 8^th.

Our Vision and Care team members serve the church through offering prayer, care and wise leadership around our vision.  The Vision and Care team members are:  Marlene Hoekstra, Frank Hoekstra, Gloria Lebold, Clare Lebold, Doris Maiolo, and Alisha Nafziger.

The Leadership Board brings prayerful leadership to our faith community, meeting monthly to ensure we fulfill our mission and vision and faithfully oversee the many areas of ministry of The Gathering.  The members of the Board are:  Wazir Ally, Andrew Jantzi, Rocco Maiolo, Debbie Wagler and Craig Nafziger.
