Dear Gathering Church,

Over the past two years, through a discernment process guided by Credence and Co., we heard a strong desire to:

• Care for our pastor: We recognized the significant demands on Catherine and the need for more sustainable support.
• Grow our ministry and deepen relationships: We continue to seek ways to nurture our mission and congregational life.

To address these priorities, the Board, in consultation with Vision and Care and Catherine, has created a new position, Interim Pastoral Support. This one-year role will allow us to:

• Support Catherine: Share ministry responsibilities, provide pastoral care, and assist with planning.
• Discern our future: Evaluate our pastoral needs as The Gathering continues to grow.

We are delighted to welcome Rocco Maiolo to this vital role, effective February 10th.

Rocco brings valuable experience as an educator, church and community leader. He has faithfully served The Gathering in various capacities, including: Snack Attack, Credence reference group, worship leader, Board co-chair and Small Group leader.

Rocco's deep understanding of our church and his commitment to Jesus make him an ideal fit for this interim position.

This new role is made possible by our current budget surplus. Rocco will work 10 hours per week, supporting Catherine and contributing to the growth of our ministry. He will also step down as Board co-chair to focus on strengthening Board governance.

We will formally welcome and bless Rocco at our worship service on February 9th.
